Ryan Emmett is a Postgraduate Researcher in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield. He previously worked on an Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) funded project at BMW Mini as a Thermal Modelling Intern where he modelled the thermodynamics of Li-ion cells, and studied Automotive Engineering as an Undergraduate at Loughborough University, doing his Master’s project on thermal expansion in Li-ion cells. He is now working on cathode particle morphology in Li-ion NMC 811 cells, and how biotemplating using natural materials can be used to improve cell properties, and cost effectiveness of cell production.
