Tommy completed his PhD in the group of Dr John Griffin at Lancaster University where he used a combination of solid-state NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and density functional theory to study organic functional materials, including battery anode materials for lithium- and sodium-ion batteries. Now a PDRA in Dr John Griffin’s group, and part of the FutureCat project, he will study cathode materials using solid-state NMR
